Client Comments

Here are some comments from previous tour participants (2004 to 2007).

More recent tour comments (from 2008 onwards) are posted on the tour information page of each destination. Please visit destinations and click on the country of interest.

Madagascar, September 2007:

" The itinerary turned out to be absolutely perfect. Optimum times were spent at each site to secure all the target birds, and with a little luck on our side we saw every single resident endemic that was theoretically possible. ... Also an amazing 27 lemur species, plus Fanaloka, Ring-tailed Mongoose and Humpback Whales. ... guides were all top class.... transport very good and accommodation excellent."
Ian M.

Namibia, September 2007:

" I pass on our thanks to you, for what was an excellent trip and one that I will want to remember for many years." "Great trip & accommodation everywhere was excellent."
Louise James and Mike P.

Western Cape, September 2007:

" Wow, I think that about sums it up!! No seriously, thank you so much, because of your self and Birding Africa we had a fantastic trip. The accomodation was superb, the food excellent. The pelagic, as you probably know, was awesome. The Birding was excellent, over 220 species on our trip, the hospitality we received at the accomodation was 1st class. I would have no reservations in recommending or using Birding Africa as ground agents in the future. This really was a truly enjoyable birding experience!!"
Andrew L.

Cape, April 2005:

" ...thank you for all your efforts in arranging for Michael Mills to show us round the Cape on 24th March. Not only were the birds good (over 100 species and much more than the 75 promised) but the scenery of the Cape and beauty of Kirstenbosch made a wonderful introduction to the start of our holiday."
Janet and John M.

South Africa, July 2004:

" It was great to visit your lovely country and to bird with you both on your home turf. You folks certainly run a first-class operation, and I am confident that it will grow and prosper, if my brief experience is any indication of the quality of service you routinely provide. I would not hesitate to recommend Birding Africa to anyone!"
" David, you are truly among the most capable and amiable guides I have had the pleasure of knowing. You made the time we spent together a delight. Not only are you a superb birder and guide, but, perhaps more important in your business, you possess the 'people skills' necessary to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for the client. Your professional abilities, coupled with your relaxed and easy-going nature, struck the right chord with me, and I believe we got along quite well together."
" When I tried to turn some distant, inanimate object into a feathered creature, you gently suggested it might be otherwise. On the rare occasion when you made a mistake, you quickly admitted it and corrected the identification -- a sure sign of confidence in your abilities and no need to try to be 'right' all the time. The company is fortunate to have you on its staff, and I wish you well with your future plans."
Rich E.

Ted and Sue W.

April 2005:

" Thanks again for a great trip everything was as good or better than we dared hope."
Jenny and Trevor F.

Madagascar, August 2007:

"It can only be described as stupendous, superb, brilliant etc... The whole tour from start to finish was virtually perfection. ... Accommodation + food exquisite throughout without exception. Transport and drivers first class, all logistics smooth and trouble-free. THE BIRDING.... unparalleled. 162 spp, 120 lifers inc. 118 endemics/near endemics- ... 20+ Lemurs, loads of fabulous reptiles. What a place! "
Steve & Judy R.

Western Cape, September 2007:

"In short yes I would recommend Birding Africa because its so easy to arrange. Ours was all done via a couple of e-mails. The office staffs contribution to the success of our trip was greatly appreciated."
Steve D.

Kalahari, July 2007:

"We have seen and photographed many nice birds, mammals, reptiles, landscapes, so it was an extremely exciting experience for us! We would like to thank you very much for the professional organization."

About Birding Africa

Birding Africa is a specialist birding tour company customising tours for both world listers and more relaxed holiday birders. †We combine interests in mammals, butterflies, dragonflies, botany and other natural history aspects and will guide you to Africa's and Madagascar's most diverse birding destinations. Our guides' knowledge of African birds and birding areas is our greatest strength and together we have rediscovered species, shared exciting observations with the birding community and had a fun time exploring our home continent. †We've even written two acclaimed guide books on where to find Southern Africa's and Madagascar's best birds. Birding is more than our passion, it's our lifestyle, and we are dedicated to making professional, best value trips filled with endemic species and unique wildlife experiences. Since 1997, we've run bird watching tours in South Africa and further into Africa for individual birders, small birding groups and top international tour companies. We've run Conservation Tours in association with the African Bird Club and work with and consult for a number of other top international tour companies and the BBC Natural History Unit.
