Dr Gabriel Jamie is a research scientist based at the FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology, University of Cape Town, South Africa and at the University of Cambridge in UK. He became interested in birds as at a very young age, first in Cape Town and then in United Kingdom. This has resulted in a life-long avian obsession that has led him to study birds and their ecosystems in many places around the world. In Africa, this includes over ten years of fieldwork throughout Zambia as well as research and birding expeditions in Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Ghana, Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa and Madagascar.
