Birding in the following areas, which host numerous endemics, can be rewarding during both summer & winter.

• Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve’s  grasslands and patches of thornveld.
• Blesbokspruit’s extensive wetland system, accessed through Marivale Bird Sanctuary.
• Devon grasslands – time dependent.
• Day count: between 60 – 100 species can be expected.
